Tech Prod 1: Building, Painting, Drafting, and Lighting

This became one of my favorite classes. I got 12/15 points on the drafting assignment (photos to the right), and that was the most difficult one for me to figure out, and it is still a difficult concept for me. I also learned invaluable skills like building and painting in wood, marble, and brick as demonstrated in my 3 part platform. I also was put into a group and told to create a lighting design, as well as conjure my own set design for Anton Chekhov's play, "The Three Sisters".

Tech Prod II: Makeup, Props, and Costumes

This was also very fun and challenging, and I praise PSU's theatre program for being able to make me learn so many invaluable skills not only in acting but in all other theatrical regards. In this class I had heavily artistic projects. For props I made a mini drum kit out of a paint can, two sheets of hard cardstock, foil wrap, foam installation for the inside, and two smooth sticks with clay at the tips. For costumes, I decided to create a patchwork dress out of every floral pattern I could get my hands on, under the most helpful eye of costumer Lisa Quinteros. This was a fun project to do with her, because every patch was from a piece of fabric that was used in a show she costumed. For makeup, I did a genderbend, a fantasy Cheshire Cat, age, and gore. Finally for the overall project I put together my dress and makeup skills to recreate Little Sally from Urinetown, with a teddy bear as a prop, and accentuated features to give the starving orphan look. The patchwork dress was sleeveless, so I had the added challenge of covering the tattoo on my right shoulder.

Intro to Audio/Video

Trent Kling is a phenomenal professor that made even a technologically struggling student such as myself able to create and edit videos. I got an A for the project linked below, which was a music video for the song "Stressed Out" by Twenty One Pilots, with my little sisters Tabitha and Molly as the star talent.
